Dear Brothers and Sisters,
It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of IBEW 1212 member Jeffrey Ringel. Local 1212 remembers Jeff for his talent and vast accomplishments spanning a forty plus year career in broadcasting.
Jeff honed his craft at CUNY Kingsborough and Queens College prior to joining CBS Television in 1976, where he started as a Video Tape operator and worked his way up to Technical Director. During his remarkable Emmy award winning career, he worked with the best in the business on prestigious sporting events including NASCAR, Major League Baseball, Super Bowls, College Basketball, and the Olympics.
On a personal note, I will always be grateful for Jeff’s support and mentorship. His guidance and insights will always be invaluable to me. May God bless Jeff and the Ringel family during this challenging time.

As we embark on this journey of life. There are times when we all need help and right now that time is now for one of our IBEW 1212 Brothers. Paul Friedman has been a member of IBEW 1212 since 2014. His work at CBS as a 403(g) Staff Supervisor can be seen on Network. While Paul continues to work, his family has teamed up with a great organization as they embark on a Kidney transplant. We ask that you read up on the organization “Renewal” that Paul and his wife Debbie have been partnering with. The best thing we all can do in a sign of solidarity is to pick up our own. The family wishes are that more people become aware that being an organ donor is one of the best things you can do. For additional information, please see the website link below.

“For the veteran, thank you for bravely doing what you’re called to do so we can safely do what we’re free to do.” -Unknown
