12/04/19 – Merger of Viacom and CBS officially closed, reuniting the two entities which will be known as ViacomCBS.
12/04/19 – Sean Dugan from Flex Plan will be at the CBS Broadcast Center to speak with freelance members on December 10th from 10-4pm.

08/19/19 – Member reached out to HR & Union. Grievance was filed on 9/25/19. Company denied grievance on 10/8. Union requested an ICAP on 11/21/19. Matter ongoing.
11/7/19 – Member reached out about travel expense from remote site. Matter is now closed.
11/24/19 – (Site Visit) BM met with members and management at CBS Broadcast Center Week 12 of the NFL Season. BR met with members and management at MetLife Stadium, Jets vs. Raiders.
WCBS:

11/26/19 – Negotiations continued, both sides have agreed to a tentative deal pending MOU. The proposed contract would a 4-year agreement.

11/14/19 – Negotiations commenced on 11/14/19. December 5th negotiation date was canceled. Committee will have a call on December 6th and next Negotiation dates are scheduled for December 11th and December 12th.

4/29/19 – Union and company met with committee to begin impact bargaining with HCC facility closing in the Fall. Next meeting is set for 5/16/19.

4/16/19 – International and Business Managers had a meeting to review upcoming contract renewal and FAQs.
5/6/19 – Fox Sports and ESPN announced that they will jointly air the XFL League in Spring 2020.

4/01/19 – BM sent a follow up letter to Labor Relations over grievance filed from incident on November 20th. Matter ongoing.

2/28/19 – Acting CEO Joe Ianniello sent a company memo about benefit changes across CBS this year. Employees will be receiving more detailed information as company rolls out these expanded programs that will include Summer Friday’s, Volunteer Time Off and expanded Bereavement among other benefits.
SPORTS:
3/7/19 – Labor relations responded to Union about work being done for the cable side. Matter ongoing.
WCBS:
2/19/19 – Member reached out to Union about use of sick days for freelancers. BR spoke with scheduling department over issue. Union is now working with company and Shop Steward, matter ongoing.
2/26/19 – Member reached out to Union about potential discrimination case. Union had call with member, office reviewing – matter ongoing.
NEWS:
1/07/19 – Grievance Meeting postponed. Rescheduled for 2/27/19 was cancelled again. New date has been set for March 21.
2/19/19 – BM, BR and Counsel spoke with member about HR investigation, matter ongoing.
COE:

02/26/19 – Management conducted meeting with members about extension agreement with the United Nations. The extension will run 6 months with option for 4 additional months running to end of December 2019. Union and company discussing extension to collective bargaining agreement.
3/7/19 – Union and company have a meeting set for March 20th to review extension to current agreement.

2/21/19 – Ratification vote passed. New contract will run through February 2021.

1/21/19 – Steward updated Union on trucks and maintenance needed to be safe and functional. January 29th, Union has drafted a letter to company.
INTERACTIVE/ CBSN:
1/28/19 – BM, BR, International Rep and Counsel conducted a shop meeting with department of CBSN. Matter ongoing.

1/16/19 – BM, BR had a Shop meeting with members to prepare for Negotiations.
1/24/19 – Day 1 of Negotiations. Both sides looking to schedule another meeting, Matter ongoing.

01/22/19 – Management sent memo that outlined- OSHA and Hudson Yards courses as well as drug testing are not required by IBEW members for access to Hudson Yards.

02/08/19 – Union counsel confirmed with Company that Technology group among several other groups at the company are not eligible to participate in the Voluntary Early Retirement Plan.
